Does anyone know whose signature this is or what that last letter is?

WBS? William B. Stapleton son of James Stapleton? Huntingdon County? Just a shot in the dark. He was pretty late, 1880's.

Could be. I've seen a similar treatment around a signature on
another Huntington rifle.
