North Carolina Horn

Here is one of my latest.  It's a Randolph Co, NC styled horn I did for
Anthony Skulskie.  The horn is roughly 13 inches around the outside
curve.  The applied tip was turned from dogwood.  The butt is yellow
pine turned with the grain.  The horn is scraped thin enough to see the
powder in the horn.  I don't post very often, but thought you guys would
like to see.

 Nice work Billy, a Beauty. I like the idea of Dogwood on a Southern horn. Holly is another, works great and takes AF well.

This one's not for sale.  It was made for a friend.  I don't uaually do custom work, but sometimes I make an exception.  I will have a web site coming up very soon, though.  I'll let you guys know when it comes up.  I have a coule more horns I would like to post for view and comment.  I'm having trouble figuring out how to post the photo's.  I usually have someone else set it up for me.  If someone knows how to do that, please send me a private message and I'll get something else up.

Billy made that horn for me and it is fantastic in execution. You don't have to hold it to the light to see the powder level.

I recently moved from North Carolina to Kentucky and brought a bag full of  winter cut hickory sapling pieces for barbecue and for whittling  spout plugs and a extra long seasoned dogwood staff for the express purpose of using a piece for a horn tip.
