Gentlemen,

Cody September Turkey Match, plank rest, string measure as follows-

S. Garbe- 6.932"
Dan Phariss- 14.764"
Rev. R. Robinson- 21.410"
R. Gerondale- 37.440"

70 degrees, sunny, light winds.

Equipment-
Garbe-.45 Phariss/Vincent, 65 grs. 3FG Swiss, .446 ball, .017 ticking, water soluble oil.
Phariss- .50 Phariss swivel, 90 grs. 3FG Swiss, ?????????
Robinson- .40 Garbe/Vincent, 53 grs. 3FG Swiss, .395 ball, .012 linen, water soluble oil
Gerondale- .54 Lyman????????????????

A good time was had by all...

Roger,

Sorry about that...10 shots for string measure at 60 yards, plank rest. Shooting kneeling from the plank is a different kettle of fish than prone form the chunk. What I have noticed is that it is VERY important to rest the gun in exactly the same spot, but...no surprises there. What was surprising was how important it is to maintain the same body angle to the gun...leaning into the rifle will get you a high shot when the left hand is on the buttstock. Left hand on the forend minimizes this, but is much less stable. It makes sense if one thinks about it...
