Dumb newbie question: why is it called a blanket gun?
If it was easy, everyone would do it.

It is a short barreled gun designed to be wrapped in a blanket for concealment.  The bad guys could carry them into a fort or meeting undetected then attack from within.  Another similar version with a slightly longer barrel is the canoe gun designed to be loaded while sitting in a canoe.  Hard to stand up and load in a canoe.
