Got a chance to get out with my half stock 50 cal this afternoon and put a few balls down range at 25, 50 and 60 yards off hand. Honestly it has been months since I have been able to do any BP shooting but my group size was much improved.
Working 6 and sometimes 7 days a week (I'm self employed and I work for a slave driver
) it was hard to stay in practice. Not being able to find time to BP shoot much less the clean up time I bought myself a good old fashioned Benjamin Sheridan pump .22 air rifle. Now I know its not a BP Burner but hear me out. I can cram quite a few aimed shots in a 15 to 30 minute session PLUS I pump it an average of 6 times per shot. After well over a thousand shots in the last 3 months thats over 6000 reps just charging the thing!
I'm getting some much needed practice AND building some extra arm strength. Back to the BP rifle shooting today I noticed my hold was Much Steadier. Much easier to hold on target. Better Groups. Partly practice and partly muscle tone.
Lifting weights is boring to me but I enjoy Shooting!.................Lynn
