minimum wall thickness for liner use?
« on: October 08, 2011, 11:11:10 PM »
What are the general guidelines for minimum wall thickness of a barrel for installing a liner?  In particular, I'm contemplating a 7/8" x .50 barrel.

Thanks

I've done lots of them, and never had a problem.  Just don't make it one of those "removable" liners.  ie the ones that some folks take out for cleaning all the time. Why they do it I'll never figure out.

Thanks Bob.

Um, yeah, Long Ears--a flash hole liner.  I guess I should have made that more clear!

Also consider Tom Snyder's 'touch hole burrs'....they cone the hole from the inside. Don't need no stinkin' liner. (don't need a liner until you've shot the hole too large to hold powder)

Known as 'Snyder" on the forum.
