Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could help me identify this pistol, I would love to know any information anyone might know about it. It has a couple of identification markings on it, but i think it may be french as i have been informed by others that it could be.
It seems to be quite old and weathered.
If anyone has any info on it at all i would love to know as my firearm knowledge is minimal.
Thanks in advance.

Your pistol appears to be French (probably ca. 1810) Napoleanic War period.  I believe it is the Model AN IX (year 9).  The markings on the brass are inspectors marks. Ramrod would have been iron. Pan would be brass.  If there is a name on the lock, it would most likely be in script.
  Hope this helps.

Thank you very much, there is no name on the lock but on the other side there seems to be some markings that look as thought there was a label of some sort attached, but it is no longer there. Would anyone know if it is worth insuring or are they quite common?
