Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

A nice later western PA rifle. I sincerely doubt a conversion to percussion. It's not that it couldn't have been made for flint, it's just that the gun is really much too late for this to be likely. Further, the single lock bolt tends to back my opinion unless a second hole is hidden under the sideplate... And I'd bet against.

Better (more detailed) photos would be nice.
In Memory of Lt. Catherine Hauptman Miller 6/1/21 - 10/1/00 & Capt. Raymond A. Miller 12/26/13 - 5/15/03...  They served proudly.

Oops,  Absolutely right.  I was going from memory without even looking at the rifle and my memory
is getting worse all the time.  I was rainy that day so I couldn't take it outside and the background was horrible with my camera.  Maybe someday he'll let me take better pictures.  It really is a pretty rifle when you
can see it clearly.
