Howdy fellows!
I've been away a while, but I am fine and recovering from the holidays!
Hopefully everyone has had a wonderful and Blessed Holiday season!
Well, as I told my friend Rich, in between chores, I managed to put my Iroquois Tomahawk together that I received from Track of the Wolf. It came out well, and will display nicely with my growing accoutrement collection.
A couple of observations.
The "Special Alloy Steel" (pg 71 catalog# 17) used in its casting is pretty soft. Garnet sandpaper cuts the metal more easily than expected. That means that it will ding if you drop something, or let a file slip out of your hand...
The handles that are sold with it will not fill the eye completely. Now maybe it's because I made some kind of mistake while carefully fitting it. When I fit the next one, I'll check the taper by first setting it in the head backwards, so I can see where it should bottom out at.
I'll do a full write-up later, and post it on my blog with lots of pictures.
Best regards,
Albert A Rasch
