Tom,
As always Excellent work!..... too hard though....... If you heated a bore size rod to bright red and inserted in the bore you could achive the same but much more even blue:

No folks this is not charcoal blue: it is  a grand "Temper blue" most befitting a Jaeger of this style.  You need a forge to heat the rod to proper heat then insert.... a very natural thing I may add!

But given the 21st C style   You did a @!*% nice job!

Man, beautiful work Tom, you have really been working hard at this, just outstanding

It's a long road from "nice wood" to "I hate you".  A while back at a show I had to explain to my wife that "I'm going to have to break your fingers" was one of the greatest compliments I have had. They may be right, guns and violence do seem to go together

Hey how did you get the gold paint to cover so well in such a thin layer?

The trick is to paint the gold first then paint black around it.
Failure only comes when you stop trying.

Stunning Acer, just stunning!
Care to show us what you mean by 'some color variations' you don't like? Having never done this, I assume you can tweak the color by going over spots?

I guess stunning fits. But someone else said that already.
Its... well, stunning.
Heat blue is just so derned pretty and it really sets off the color and workmanship of the inlay.

Uh.... Uh....... Uh.......... Wow?  ;) No kidding, that is gorgeous work. "Color variations"? I hope you don't have to change a thing.
