Horn/Brass Tacks/Single Band
« on: January 04, 2012, 09:15:22 PM »

This is my take on the horn in figure 16 in  Michael Briggs’ Piedmont North Carolina Banded Powder Horns Hunting Bags & Bullet Molds. It is about 12” around the outside curve. The base is Maple, about 2 ¼”, held in by 8 Brass tacks. The tip is carved from the horn, in the pic it looked like at least two tacks holding the band, I added two more.

That is a GREAT horn, Tim. I really like it, and I'm not a brass tack fan.
