Heading to the woods with my flintlock for the last evening of buck season

I don't know what state your hunting in. I went out on the last day of Pa. late flintlock season, and I saw 10 deer, it was rewarding just seeing them.

Primitive season runs through this Sunday here in Louisiana and that will wrap up gun season. It's been in the 70s and windy today. Maybe I'll get another trip or 2 in later this week.  Danny

The last day here in PA was Monday. I went out the last 2 hours. Didn't feel up to much of a walk, followed our ridge line/ boundary for 300 yards or so back in. While headed in, uphill, I was met by three gray squirrels running at me in tandem, they came within 2 feet of my 2 feet, quite humorous. I saw four of this past years fawns, at least a dozen squirrels. While watching the storm roll in and the fawns eating, 5 gobblers came to within 50 yards and flew up to roost. No deer this year, but a nice end to the season.
