Butt Plate ID?

Somewhere in my travels I picked up a brass butt plate stamped with a pattern number 86 in the casting, inside near the toe. It's in my box of extra stuff so I have no idea where it may have come from and an 86 isn't on my Reaves printed list.

I checked the usual sources and no one lists an 86 that I can find, and I would like to know what guns, builder or school the original mold came from since I think it's going on a blank I've had laying around for a while. Anyone familiar with the code?

I have not run across this number before maybe posting a picture of the butt plate would get more of a response. There are multiple foundry's around as well as those casting their own it may be difficult to tie down.
