Good shooting Walt with what sounds like a very effective load. I have a couple of the GM drop in barrels for my loaner gun and they shoot great too. Smylee

Sorry it took so long to get them but i'm a working progress that needs lot's of work.Yes i got a threw shot, just above the front shoulder threw the spine.Needless to say he hit the ground right where he stood.I don'thave all that many shot's threw the 54cal gm barrel yet but I have lot's plans for this spring.I'M making jerky now and has turned out very well,in fact so good my fussy ole girl even commented on how good it was. This fall I got a relacement stock for the hawken and the guy's at pecatonica reshaped the butt for me to stand a bit more recoil ,hope to have that done for spring. Maybe next fall some thing alittle bigger like a moose.Again I would like thank every one for there helpfull infirmation , comment's and 2cent's worth this special site and the knowledge in it.AND VERY SPECIAL THANKYOU TO DARYL for helping me with the pictures, hope you enjoyed them .hopefully next time they well of better quality as it was getting dark . -36TODAY AND COLDER TOMMOROW - C that is.AGAIN thankyou all. Nice young 4 point, Walt. (they've started counting the brow tines here, hense 4 points) I do hope you get a moose next year. Your load, even in 2F is perfect and if your accuracy & the accuracy of the load holds up, has 150yard capability.

Smoking load!!!! That would be hot even with 2f!!!! Good luck on the moose, that load should really work well on one, if anything works well on moose. FRJ

White stuff? Check the current Alberta weather. Big windy deepfreeze.

It was -40 two nights in a row here. Now it has warmed up to -24. Anxious to get out with my .32 flinter and try some more loads.

Dang balmy here too. Only went below -40 with wind chill - -38 actual. We're sitting at -34 now. Stay in, stay warm, and congratulations.
We've found hunting in -40 to be quite hard on springs, both leaf and coil.
Supposed to be above freezing on Monday.

-40 would be pretty hard on my springs as well, I'd guess?
