Boys Scouts at Ft Boonesborough ALR
« on: January 30, 2012, 02:51:37 AM »
Ron mentioned that a boy scout troop from Ohio was at Fort Boonesborough
during the ALR meeting. They came in to visit ALR and were very interested
in the weapons and accoutrements. They were going to visit to 15 minutes
and stayed for 45 minutes, asking a lot of questions.

They asked to borrow some of the weapons so they could pose for pix.

All the best
Paul

Paul,

Thanks for posting the pictures of our Scout friends.  I had set my camera aside and missed getting any.  I had no idea they would be at the Fort, but as a former Scoutmaster, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to invite them to join us.  They were very polite young men.  Good Scouts.  Maybe we planted a seed.

I'd like to thank all the ALR members in attendance for welcoming the Scouts, allowing them to handle their guns and equipment and answering all their questions.

With luck you guys inspired at least one of them to pursue some part of the muzzle loading hobby!

Glad to see they have an interest and aren't being "pushed" to the opinion that fire-arms are bad.  I'll bet they all have there rifle and shotgun merit badges.  I got mine when I was about their age.
"Once and Eagle, Always an Eagle".  I hope they get theirs!
