I figure a few more days of finish work and some browning my first build will be ready to shoot.

Is that a .32 or a .36?  Can't quite see what says on the oblique flat in picture six.  J.D.K.

Nice barrel.  Do your triggers trip the lock sear?  In that last picture it looks like there is alot of wood between your lock plate and your trigger plate.  Could be camera angle but it doesn't look as though the triggers will reach.  Just wondering.  J.D.K.

Great looking shop.  What are you using as a model or inspiration for your rifle?

I got a Tennesee rifle drawing from TOtW. As far as it firing, everything operational.

It'll be interesting to see what it looks like after you cut another 5 or 10 pounds of wood off the stock.

What Joihn's trying to say is your buttstock looks really heavy. The cheek piece especially looks oversized and even through the lock panels you could use some slimming down if you are attempting to achieve the classic form of a flintlock long rifle. The suggestion of if your trigger is reaching your sear is also due to a lot of wood between your triggers and the lock. I would suggest some study the Rifles of Colonial Ameriica books which would help you understand classic shape.

I've seen Mike's Carolina trade gun fowler tutorial but had not seen this rifle tutorial.

Mike put a lot of work and info into that and at No Charge  8)
