JVP and Dave P know more but to me, a mid 1700s English trade gun quality lock.

Certainly high mileage but still intact. It could never be considered as a quality lock
but it isn't junk either.Looks like all the parts are original as well.

Cock is mounted too high (period replacement?); otherwise interesting, looks like an old three screw trade lock as Rich noted.

A low quality "trade" lock. I doubt it is English as very few later English locks have detachable pans, especially when you get to the late 18th century...more likely what is today thought of as Belgium. If so, it predates the French occupation around 1795.

And, folks, that’s why this site is great!  I never noticed the separate pan bolster.
