Flask Spout
« on: June 15, 2012, 06:01:24 PM »
A friend of mine aquired an old horn flask with a spring release for the spout, which he'd like to use. It is not a valuable antique Just old, and has been recently altered by the previous owner who drilled holes in the side to afix a lanyard of some type. I can restore the holes that were drilled.

What I need to know is where can I find a spout? The spout opening is threaded for a screw in spout, like the new ones currently for sale. I bought one of those the the threads are too small. Here is what I need: the inside diameter of the hole is .465" the outside diameter of the hole is .500" and the threads are .146" deep. The threads appear to be 32 threads per inch. I would like to get him a short pouring spout not a measure spout. For info only the new made spouts are .380", if anyone needs one I've got one, let me know.

Anyone who can help? I'd appreciate it.

Can't help with the spout alone, but have the spring release and spout as a combo, if you want to go thru the work of replacing the whole works.  Less than ten bucks.

TOF,
Can you post/send a picture of the flask head and spout? If Micah passes, I may be interested.

Mark,
Ten  bucks ain't worth the 45 minutes it would take to prepare and upload the pictures.  They're the old spring valve and spout combo that Treso used to sell.  You should know what they look like.

TOF,
You're right didn't know it was a Treso. If it is complete, base and spout I'll take it.
