Horn 'Houses'
« on: June 16, 2012, 04:43:59 PM »
Here's a couple of projects I'm still working on as they need some engravings, but am afraid I got too fancy?  Tinder and Bait 'houses' from a couple of translucent horn that are approximately 7 inches in length, give or take.  The 'fixed' ends are secured only with pins as there was no adhesives used.
The wood used is cherry and only sealed with oil (LMF).  The peg on the bait horn is a piece of osage orange.

Pretty cool Gary. I've never built a bait horn. I might have to give one a try.
You can never really get too fancy. Go for it.

Well done Gary, I like the oil only finish, they will continue to darken with age.
