Germanic Powder Horn Phrase

I was talking about some Jaeger Rifles this past weekend. Ran accross a really beat up Percussion converted one on Friday in a Kensington Maryland Gun/Railroad hobby shop. Anyway latter was talking about making a new horn for a more Germanic Gun and the fellow I was talking to pops out a neat little bit he said he recalled reading on a horn. Anyone ever hear this one and know where it came from?

Have also seen it as
Alle Anstrengungen sind vergeblich, wenn ein Engel pisst in der Steinschloss-Muskete Ihrer
All efforts are in vain if an angel *#)*^! in the flintlock of your musket
Not sure of the origon though.
