I would add one thing regards this subject of shooting a righty lefthanded etc. That puts your lock and it's fireworks much over the center line of the shooters chest.  Some folks shove their primer horn, flask, cylinder (read grenade) in a pouch on their shoulder strap to their shooting bag.  This in turn sets that grenade fairly close below that flint lock.   So, the possibility of setting off that primer is to be considered.  Move the primer (to the shooting bag or or or.)

The gun I gave him is a percussion. He was shooting right hand for a while and then left. So, who knows? He is tickled pink with the gun though. thanks for all the suggestions. chuck
