What is the proper way to pin a simple trigger in the lock inlet wood in relation to the sear bar?

3/8 forward of the sear bar and as high as the pivot point of the sear or as close as possible. This works for me and I end up with a 2.5 to 3 lbs trigger that is darn crisp. There are a couple of good drawings of this here if you do a search on it. I'm sure some of the other guys will chine in soon. They are the ones that I learned it from. Bob

I think Long Ears described it pretty well, distance from the sear bar is about 3/8", but other things that can be done to
aid in a better trigger pull.    I like to file the sear bar round and polished, it will help.    One must also polish the sear
and full cock notch in the tumbler............Don
