Michigan over the log Championship
« on: August 20, 2012, 02:36:31 AM »
We had the Michigan State over the log Championship this weekend here at Broken Lock near Alma  . The attendance was down quite abit guess we are to far for the regular chunk gun shooters to drive? It was a fifteen shot match with all fifteen shots scored. The weather was great no wind some over cast and mild temp. The first place winner was Jim Bowes from the Jackson area shooting a Paul Griffith Spidermatic .45 cal. with a underhammer C. Bower action. his score was 8.209 inches . We had a young lad of fourteen shoot for the first time and shot just over 17 inches he had two fliers that cost him five inches .Davis is his name and his Dad John Konkol plans on bringing him down to the York shoot next March .Maybe next year we can get some folks to come up and join us.

8.2 for a 15 shot string sounds like a pretty good score. Congrats to the winner and thanks for letting us know what it takes to win. Best wishes   Smylee
