Like, I can rout out a big hole for my lock, then backfill it with epoxy putty? That sounds like an inletter's dream.

Mohawk makes good stuff, it's probably stainable.

Mohawk supplies professional cabinet and furniture makers. They ususally only sell to tradespeople through a salesman although they are probably online somewhere now..I used a lot of their products in my prior business and has been said they make a quality product. That being said when they say in the descrition that it is stainable that means the stain may adhere to the surface of the patch not that it will look the same as the wood next to it.I belive the use of these products where they will show will be disapointing.

Acer, if you do it that way you won't even need to use any lock bolts to hold the lock in place! Talk about a "poor boy"  ;D :-X

I've tried some fillers like this before, and while they might stain okay, you'll find it almost impossible to get the correct texture and sheen to match the surrounding wood. You could use it for hidden or unseen repairs, but for visible repairs, you'll find your time better spent gluing in a piece of wood.,,,, at least in my experience...

I am in the middle of making some cabinet doors and had a chip that tore out
And a hole from a misplace brisket. Haven't stained them yet but does seam to work for
Some problems. So I throw this out as one more tool for a problem. I never said it would
Be the cure all for all problems.
