Yes, that's exactly what I was talking about.

When you get to the point that the solder is all gone get a Q tip  with a bit of cold blue and wipe it down the seam . Any solder still on the metal won't blue and is simple to see. Better now than after you have a couple of coats if browning applies as you then have to start all over. How do I know ?????

One function of the barrel ribs is to simply act as a joiner for the two barrels.
Many of them cried; "Me no Alamo - Me no Goliad", and for most of them these were the last words they spoke.

Thanks for taking the time to post all these tricks and details.  Greenhorns like myself know nothing of these machine techniques and we need all the exposure and help we can get !!!

 Great looking pistol!! It reminds me of that double barrel pistol? cut down shotgun? in El Dorado with James Caan an John Wayne and Robert Mitchum.
