Sabot question for a friend

I don't,I won't use Sabot's.  A coworker asked why Sabot's don't work well in his longrifle?  Roundballs will cut line's  but Sabot's are all over the place

slow twist rifling has trouble stablizing a conical projectile so it will spin and fly true, but it does it right perfect for a roundball. This is why a fast twist barrel is the norm for modern rifles, oh yeah and it is also the norm for those modern inline types of abomminations.

Seems his rifle is trying to tell him something and he is not listening.
Sabots are for people not savvy enough to use cloth patches.
I would guess that the rifling is too deep or the wrong land-groove ratio.
They were not intended for traditional rifles anyway.

Thanks guys,

   Pretty much told him the same thing about the rifling being too slow, just wasn't sure. And I don't like to give misinformation.  Sadly the man who asked is a humanity.

I understand Roundball! but we are humans and sometimes aguy's"mood" can influence his actions. The B/P shell's in a shot gun literally dances right on top of the "line" we have here!

Anyway,the American longrifle willjust "spit"out those unholything's the way the human body spit's out bad food,projectile vomiting!
