Fordney carving

Some carving from a Melchoir Fordney I'm working on. Can't decide whether to leave this in the white for the Lewisburg Show or try to finish it. Lots of other stuff to do on it. Criticism welcome.

Bill, I'd not rush it.
Bring it in the white, then finish it at your leisure once the show is done.
This is just incredible carving.

BILL. I agree with Tom. after all the work that you have put into it, It would be a shame to mess something up , just be cause you rushed it. take your time and when you get it finnished, post some pictures for us to see!

I'm with the rest-don't rush.
The carving is spectacular. I'd like to see how you treated the lock panels, tang, and entry pipe areas if/when they are carved.
Very nicely done, Bill.

If I were going to be there I would ask that you bring it in the white, as that would help me see more of how you have done the carving. It is an incredible piece of work!!

Just remember Bill "Melcoir Fordney" Shipman......You don't live next door to a crazy neighbor who plays with hatchets and talks to horses?? Seems I read in an old book somewhere that Old Melcoir asked this very same question back in the day in 1846. He left his unfinished.
Just kidding Bill! You have another masterpiece in the works there!

I am hoping the weather permits a trip to Lewisburg so I can look at that just the way it is. Wonderful work.
