Are you referring to Art and Jan Riser's Contemporary Makers Blog" at this address: http://contemporarymakers.blogspot.com/
If so I agree.

Art and Jan put a tremendous amount of work and time into this blog and the CLA does not have anything to do with it other than many of the CLA members work is shown there.

Typical outstanding Schippers work. Once you handle several of his guns you don't have to look for a signature on the barrel to know who made it. As Don Getz says " He's the best unknown gunmaker/engraver in existence."

The rifle on the CLA web site is not a Shippers rifle. That is the John Jacob Sheetz documentary copy that Darrin and I did for the CLA auction.

Mike you are correct about John's work though.

An apology is offered to any one offended or confused by my incorecly identifing the blog site for this post. My coments were sincere though and Mr. Schippers is indeed a fantastic gunsmith. I would also like to comend Mr. Riser for such a wonerfull site as I visit it on a daily basis.  His write up on Cody Robustenllini  was great as I have said in another post it is great to see young people like Cody getting involved in this great pastime. A tip of the hat to Ron Paull for helping Cody get his start.
