They need to change the location to a place that's not so nice. I took my wife last year, now she wants to go again this year. I tried to tell her that the large gift shop would have the same boring stuff they had last year..........but she not buying that line.....

Great show, great fun.

For all those guys who don't have original work to study, here's a great opportunity. There is a room of antique guns and related stuff, and most folks are more than willing to let you look, sketch. I ALWAYS ask if I can photo. Sometimes owners are hesitant to have you do this, which I understand is a concern with increasing gun value combined with photos and names going up on the web.

I am only taking knives. I don't have any guns finished to show. I have a little 30 caliber that I hoped to finish for the show so I could show Don Getz what a real barn gun looked like, but I didn't make it

Charlie.......you're not working fast enough. You can't take time to worry about those rasp marks, scrapes and scratches,

Lewisburg is only a 45 minute drive north for me...

Dixons is an hour and 15 minutes east...

Life is good.

But I'd fly to both if I had to.

The car is packed, now the Lord willing and the creeks don't rise we will be set up tomorrow evening and ready to go Friday morning. I'll be looking forward to seeing old friends, and making some new ones. If I am where I have been every other year, I will have Charlie, Lowell and Don to keep me out of mischief---It is always good to have some elders around....

Arrived about 10:00 this morning. The show was very crowded, nice turnout. It did seem to thin out a little by the time I left around 1:30.

Sorry I missed you Eric. Was there all morning and had to sneak back to work. Returned in the evening with the Wife for the last two hours. The turn out was strong and it was pretty crowded when we were there.

It was great to see a lot of the folks and their wares. Some really GREAT stuff....really inspiring. Enjoy, J.D.

Hi all. I was there to yesterday. First time at this show. It was Awesome! I was like a kid at Christmas..Nice to see everyone. What really prompted me to go was to pick up a Schimmel from Allen Martin. Very Cool!. Allen's a great guy. Meet his wife and some of his kids. All and all a Fun time till it was time to leave. I left around 3:30pm got on Rt. 80 and BANG!! road closed, SNOW! detoured us to Stopped Traffic.

No idea were I was. Got home just before 8:30pm. I'm in New Jersey. But any way I DO have a Martin Original. Wee Ya..

Great show as usual, and yeah it was kinda crowded by 11AM Friday.
I didn't take any pictures this year.

Did take my current in-progress fowler project though, and got some great advice from some very skilled and helpful gentlemen, namely Mark Wheland, Mitch Yates, Matt Harshbarger, and Ron Luckenbill.
Just wanted to give a shout out to those guys for their willingness to provide constructive feedback.
It's a pleasure working in a craft filled with fine folks like those guys.
Spent all my lunch money in the parts room, too.

Phew, what a great show! I've missed the last two Lewisburg and Dixon's shows due to school and my work schedule, and I was so happy to be able to make it to this one - Thanks Tom for having me along for the ride. Was great to see everyone again and talk flintlocks - the artistry was, as usual, top notch. I brought a fowler along with me, but I think a pair of 16th century/middle earth gauntlets drew more attention. Teddy Martin (Allen's son) nearly took them home, I think Tom got a shot of him picking his nose with them. I got back yesterday afternoon and I'm afraid to say I'm fighting a bit of a flu now as well. I'm sorry I missed you Roger - next time!

Well, another Artisan show is now in the rearview mirror. It was a great show, and well attended by people from all spectrums of life. It was especially nice to see women of all ages walking by and making positive comments on the artistry of the guns and accouterments. It was an opportunity to paint what has been referenced as "The Gun Culture," in a very positive light. We must never forget we are now in a serious battle to retain that which so many have sacrificed to obtain. A special "THANKS" to John Getz, Art DeCamp, Mark Wheland, Allen Martin, Eric Fleisher and all the many others who do the work and planning to make this event possible. A great show and well received and much appreciated!
