Although we were spared the worst of the snow storm, we did receive 12" of snow and chilly temperatures.  In spite of the cold and snow clogged trail we managed to attract 13 shooters, representing at least 4 other clubs.  We shot at a variety of differently shaped gongs at different distances; charcoal briquettes; pencils @ 20 yds., strings also at 20 yds., etc.  None of us fell down because of branches and stones hidden under the snow nor did we embarrass ourselves (Well, maybe a bit.).  However, we all had a good time and I even managed to score high enough to win some flints.  Wish you were there to share the fun!

      Glad to hear that inspite of the weather you had a good shoot.  While I live in Vt. now,I was born and raised in Ulster County, family settled there in the 1600's.My last name is DeWitt, and some of my family,(the Coddingtons), are buried in Marbletown.  Some relatives still live in Modena, New Paltz and Wallkill.  If possible , could I obtain your clubs schedule of events as I would like to try and visit a shoot on a visit to the Valley.

Gary, I know those surnames because they are mentioned on several occasions in the history of Ulster Co.  I'm afraid additional BP events are uncertain as our planner Rich Rockwell, has family and work obligations.  However, he's optimistic that we'll have another shoot sometime over the summer or autumn.  Until then, take a look at this schedule of Ulster Co.
