T/C Hawken?

I am in need of a new barrel for my T/C Hawken that was given to me by my grandfather,,,,  from the information i have received barrels are limited and the factory breech has a 11/16x20 thread dia.     I know that TOW has a breech and tang set with a 5/8x18 thread will this mate with my T/C stock and then i need to find a barrel that will fit the breech?

I will never us Substitute powder in a side lock style rifle....   

wonder how a conversion to flint would go on this rifle???

TOW has everything you need to build a new barrel for your hawken. They have colerain and a few Gr. Mtn. barrels that would make great round ball shooters. You can also find barrels on Ebay if you don't want to make one.

As long as there has been NO work done on the barrel,T/C warrenties them,no matter who originaly bought it.

I have a tc hawken that had a rusted and pitted bore when I bought it used. I had rice barrel co. make me a barrel with slow twist for round ball only. Ask for jason and he will fix you up. only cost a couple hundred bucks.

As mentioned above, Check with Tip Curtis. Last time I talked to him he had drop in barrels in stock in MANY calibers.
That being said, Rice makes fine barrels too.

Forgot to mention, I have used pyrodex and tripple seven alot in my rifles for years and it doesnt hurt them . no probems at all. use only in modern steel barrels. also load by volume, just as you do bp. No one sells bp around here anymore . If I knew a few guys who would split the price with me, I would order 25 lbs or so.
I dont want to offend anyone, its not my intention. Just my opinion.

I converted 2 of my TC caplocks to flint.  So if you replace the barrel with a flint barrel all you need is the lock.  TC locks come up on ebay or you can buy an L&R replacement lock.  Good luck.

thanks guys,  I talked with Jason today at rice barrels and he has what i want but it will take a couple months.  i did find a Colerain barrel in .45 cal 36 inches long at a supplier in stock i may go that rout for now! 

How are the Colerain barrels???

I've used a few Colrain barrels and they have been fine. They can be a little rougher finish inside and out, but they shoot  well for me.

I have a 36 inch, 54 cal Colrain barrel on a TOTW Hawken kit, and it was tearing up patches. I ran some oiled steel wool down the bore for a few strokes and took out the burrs. It shoots great now.
