Guys...don't keep all the fun to yourself...I would very much like to see the pics also...it's hard to find pics of Jacob George rifles. I believe the one in the Kutztown Historical Society that you speak of is also pictured on p.60 of Berks County Longrifles and Gunmakers. Even if it is....I would still like to see some more pics.

Sorry about the pic quality..The flash lit up the inlay,is hardly visible when looking at the rifle in the room. The art on the rifle is really folk artsy. Please excuse me Im just getting into longrifles so i might not be getting things right..The carving behind the tang seems to me to look like a lizard. And the rifle has many animal shapes.Thats why it seems odd to me.II would like to see other George rifles  and see if they are similar. Thanks for answering my original post.

Thanks for posting guys...very nice. Bill...There is also a  second Jacob George rifle pictured in the book I mentioned...you may want to check out. Jim's rifle looks very much like the rifle attributed to Carl George in the same book.

"Bill of the 45th"....excuse my ignorance....CLA? ...I'd like to check out the rifle you mentioned.

Have just seen a rifle that is marked Carls(sic) George and a date of 1836???? many of the attributes track the Jacob George rifle...does this ring any bells?

Please look at the Mystery rifle Help!! forum. I believe I also own a Jacob Georg rifle or Georg family rifle. When do you think this percussion rifle was produced?
