Russ Carpenter Fullstock

I had a table at The Ancient Ones gunshow this weekend. A .45 Fullstock Hawkin came in.  It was built by Russ. I remember him as a custom gunsmith from 40 years ago, or so.

 Anybody know abit of his history?

Reason I am asking...picked this up at my table at a gunshow yesterday. Russ scratch built  most of the gun. Set trigger is signed, barrel is signed, he built the lock.

.45 cal in a 30" straight 15/16" barrel.  Kind of a  Ohio percussion rifle? maybe.

I remember him as a fairly well known centerfire gunsmith and writer. Contributing editor to American Rifleman, decades ago.
