Beautiful rifle! Most striking to me is how the curl in the buttstock seems to radiate outward from the bottom like rays of sunlight! Love the finish. Don't think I've ever seen anything I like better than aqua fortis on maple. Tell us about the lock.

David
The wood is a piece of 1/4 sawn stump cut from Freddie Harrison. The lock is a Chambers Large Siler with a brass/bronze plate.I got it from Jim a bunch of years ago on a whim and has been laying in my lock drawer ever since. My customer gave me a lot of leeway in making this rifle so when picking a lock I thought this one would work for the style of rifle I was building.

A really nice rifle! The carving is so well done, gunmaker Hagy would be proud. Hagy is the next one on my to build list and you can be sure I will be saving this post for further reference.

Beautiful rifle.
John Haga spelt his name "Haga"
At least that's how he signed them on the rifles Joe Kindig showed.
