Yet Another Banded Horn

  This one is about 14” around the outside curve. The Walnut base is hollowed out and is about 2 ¼”, held in buy 4 steel pins. The tip is two part antler held together with 3 pins and to the horn with 3 more. The bands are held with 3 pins each. Color is Brown Rit and Brown shoe polish.

I love the Ritberry dye!

Not a big fan of banded horn's,but this is a nice one! Great job!

 Yes, the tip I was after is on the top horn, page 287, in Bill Ivey’s North Carolina Longrifles 1765-1865. A slight sip of the tool took out the ball just below the tip but I decided to go with it anyway. The stopper may need to be reshaped too.

Nothing wrong with it Tim, just not sure if it's what I would have put on it. I have done a number of projects that after they were done  I just wasn't really satisfied with. Some I have changed and others I left. Often others liked them and so I have learned not to second guess all of my work.  I probably shouldn't second guess others work either.
