Help Identifying A Knife
« on: December 10, 2014, 07:22:16 AM »
Hello,

I recently acquired this knife.  It is 12" long overall.  I thought it was a House product, reading the mark as an H.  Recent research does not show them using this mark.  Can anyone identify the maker?  It is very well made and the person that made it knew what they were doing, to say the least.

Thanks so much for your help!
Yancey

It looks like it could have been made at one of Hershels classes. He makes stamps for most of the students.

I read the mark as two Cs back-to-back, where one was reversed, like it was made by 'Chris Christianson' or similar name, each starting with a 'C'.
All of my muzzleloaders will shoot into one ragged hole ALL DAY LONG ... it's just the 2nd or 3rd & other shots that tend to open up my groups ... !

Might it be a DC ?
A guy named Daniel Casey had some knives for sale on the CLA that had that loooong tang section between the bolster and blade heel.
