ALR Library Master Gunsmith: John Shell, Dauphin #338
« on: August 06, 2013, 01:25:18 AM »
Here is 8th of  John Shell's  guns to be placed in the ALR Library and Museum. You can now trace his career through his numbered guns, both in style and advancement of technology of his era. An added feature of which few are known is either his personal  powder horn or at least a signed one. Enjoy. These pictures will be added to the exhibit after they are viewed by all, making the ALR ,perhaps , the largest collection (10) his work or any makers work in one place ( other than Schyerer)

Another of Major Shell's fine works to come to us down through the ages in wonderful condition! This rifle just beckons to be carried out to the deer woods! Now the powder horn is such a wonderful and rare piece of history to behold. Dated in John Shell's prime, he would have been just 43 years old when he made it.  A great addition to the Shell collection in the ALR Library!
