Gents,
I am new to building flintlocks but I'd say I'm somewhat experienced using them. I had a Caywood Trade fusil as my first flinter at 18 as well as have used a Pedersoli Bess and a TRS Pistor Jaeger.
Currently I am acquiring the tools to begin building my own. With regards to literature, I've read "The Gunsmith of Greenville County" and "The Art of Building the Pennsylvania Longrifle".
Mr. Brooks, I took a look at your photos - very nice - and reviewed the TRS catalog in case I missed something. I believe the P76 on your website and the parts offered by TRS are for the English version that has different butt shaping, lock, buttplate and triggerguard and lacks a box (patch box). The last three photos in the hyperlink are of the Germanic P76.
My curiosity is piqued, if the Germanic parts aren't available or there wasn't access to the original, how could someone make the furniture? I figure the rod, pipes barrel, and swivel could come from TRS...
