I`m Back
« on: January 13, 2009, 08:54:13 PM »
I use to visit this forum a lot when I was into shooting Blackpowder. Well i`m back to an old love of mine. I got kinda hung up with modern firearms but realized their`s really nothing like this sport.  I still shoot my modern stuff but broke out my old smoke pole last weekend and realized how much I miss doing this.  I`m looking forward to reading some of the post here and finding some of my old friends and meeting new ones.

Welcome back Burch!

I too dabble in the modern firearms - the .22 rimfire that is - as my son has a huge interest in this area.  Probably more so then in our traditional muzzle loading at this point,  but he still shoots his smokepole at times with me.  So through his interest I too have found a renewed interest and it works out pretty well for the both of us.

This black powder does take hold of a person and is addictive.  I've been addicted for over 30 years...  It's a great hobby and sport for sure! :)

Welcome.  I was in the same boat as you were and found my interests redeveloping as I realized I could find someone to talk about real ML's instead of the modern ones.  Just finished building my first gun in at least 10 years.  Got jinxed during deer season but had a lot of fun.

What ever keeps our kids off the streets and out of trouble is worth it`s weight in gold.  Thanks to all for the replies and keep yer powder dry and yer eyes along the sky line.

burch- many of us leave the sprot for some reason or the other - getting caught up in our 'other' hobbies', but we always seem to come back.  This seldom happens to those with only a few hobbies as the alure and addiction to BP is strong.  This strength is what helps us to return.
