2013 Washington Historical Gunmakers' Fair Pictures

I started taking pictures today and as time permits I'll keep them coming through Sunday. We got to meet Frank and Lally this morning. What nice people. They both tell me their not real sure of these computers but Frank was standing here watching me upload to my photobucket. Maybe we can get them to change their minds. Probably not.

I just finished packing my truck and camper.  All showered up, downing a bowl of Chile Con Carne and I will be on my way.  A quick stop for fuel and beer and I will be there.

I was GOING to go last year, then the fire came. I WAS going to go THIS year, then the new place came last week. Just too many things going on right now, but NEXT YEAR FOR SURE!

I gotta say. I am spoiled I only live 2 hours from Dixon's. This was my first year to the Gun Fair and now  its going to be one of my mini vacations ever year.

However this looks like it would be a blast for for the different animal it is.   I hope someday I can take the time to get out to Washington for this. Thanks for the pics.

Breakfast this morning. We learned that if we feed the people here we don't have the long wait for everyone to go and come back from meals. We can have more control of when the classes start and stop. Since we have kitchen facilities we use them.





Frank teaching the class how to make their gravers. They are also shaoing and fitting the hafts.






Lally showing her class how she uses "natural"dyes. She is working outside because some of them smell quite strongly.

Dinner is fed and I almost have the kitchen cleaned up for breakfast in the AM. Lally was into the "natural" dyes and how they work and how to use them today. Everyone was transfixed with her demonstrations. She warned us that it would stink and she wasn't kidding. I haven't smelled the lye like that since the old days of hair color and permanents. Great calss and wonderful information. She even found some local roods that make a great yellow dye.
