Thanks very much for the kind words about the gane bag...it was Steve's wonderful netting job that really made it...I had no idea how to make one of these, so I just improvised...to attach the net, when I sewed up the pouch I left an extra wide welt and sewed the netting to it...the decorative stitching on the flap is just simple saddle stitching through the two layers of leather used to make the flap...one layer is the back which is 3 oz veg tan overlaid with another layer of fine soft buckskin...
I really have no back story on the history of the original pouch, but would love to know more about it too...
