That is a nice rifle.  I have had a Mountain rifle since the early 70's.

Very graceful looking piece. Am I seeing a bulge at the entry pipe?

Give us some more details!

Thanks for posting the pics.

Nice looking gun. Did you make the trigger guard and but plate?

Sorry for the quick posting....details: barrel is a Rayl 36 stright barrel that is 13/16's. Lock is a modified L&R Durs Egg, triggers are modified Davis, guard and butplate are forged from angle iron and round stock. Nosecasp is a poured pewter nosecap, the front sight is made from a silver quarter, pipes are handmade and the entry pipe is a two piece affair that has a bump out that emulates those that you see on a Brown Bess, but not so large. Just trying something a little different and I'm glad to see somebody saw that.

Handsomely done, John. Nice color, great look. I'm impressed at how many of the parts you made. I like what I see.

Helpful hint: You gotta quit hanging around with that bearded weirdo. You know who I mean.

Wait, he doesn't hang out with me. Oh, some other bearded weirdo... But he certainly can if he brings that rifle along.

Gaeckle (or anybody), a couple questions:

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the particular style of that stock? Very distinctive and angular.

I'm assuming the spoon shaped depression is a tallow hole, but am I assuming right? It seems like the stuff would run out or get dislodged.

Sweet piece of work.
