Filmmaker seeking hunters/shooters/collectors in Northeast or tri-state area.

Hello all,

I was directed to this forum by someone who saw my appeal on the /r/blackpowder Reddit. I’m a New York based filmmaker/journalist interested in doing a short documentary about people hunting with blackpowder rifles. I work at the tech news site Mashable but also do a lot of stuff on my own. Very interested in tech stuff, new and old, and find longrifles very cool. I haven’t shot since boy scout days but still find the art of it very fascinating, and would like to profile someone who hunts with these rifles, documenting the process etc.

Also would love to speak with some collectors and enthusiasts who have cool collections they’d like to talk about.

I’m located in NY but am flexibleish to travel, depending on how far.

Thank you to you all! Many have gotten in touch with me. I will slowly be gathering information to piece together. Because of the nature of the hunting seasons and weather, etc, this project will probably demand a bit of time to complete. Nevertheless, consider me hooked on the longrifle.
