The release for the patchbox on my gun originates at the toe plate:


The nail to the latch spring is located just forward of the buttplate and is hidden under the wood:

Here is the picture your requested.



It is my 36 caliber Bucks County squirrel rifle that was inspired by RCA 65.

Here is a close-up of the buttstock and lock region.



Subsequent to taking of the pictures I browned the barrel and lock.  It was impossible to hit when sunny with that bright barrel!

Long john I do thank you very much, Bucks county is one of my favorites, just barely behind southern / Tennessee mt. rifles.
