Needed something to go with my New England fowler built by Roy Stroh. Roy sets a pretty high mark with his workmanship....and I hope the acoutrements I'm making for the gun are in keeping.
The bag is in Bison with green tick lining. Antique forged buckle. Sewn in brown linen thread. The dubbin finish and sunlight were used to darken the leather. It has a single ball pocket inside. There is a sash keeper with game straps at the bottom.
Horn was a antique one that was not polished. I made it into a map horn of the Kennebec river...from a chart published in the 1760's. Made the forged staple and poured a pewter cap. Used a knife for the scrim work. Wanted it to look old and well used.
