Hey that's all really nice! Did you make everything pictured? The engravings too?

Thanks for teaching me the word "panolopy"!

Is the band on the haft poured pewter?
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

Gus,

Yes...as is the top. There is a small heart on the reverse side, too.

Giz,

Don't be such a tease.  :D  Who made the hawk?  How big is it and how much does it weigh?

Does the hawk slip down into the scabbard?  Is there a leather flap over the top of the hawk head to secure it?  Though I know they are authentic, I've never made an "over the shoulder" slung hawk scabbard before and that's why I ask.  I have wondered how comfortable they were/are to carry that way

I once made a leather waist belt with a double frog for a bayonet over a tomahawk.  It carried the hawk nicely, but then I found out there was no evidence for such a rig even though such rigs were made for a bayonet over a hanger (Infantry Sword) so I stopped wearing it.

It looks like a modern framers hatchet someone took a grinder to, 20th century. They were and probably still are used in rough framing 2x lumber buildings.

Actually... it is a Plumb shingling hatchet head that I reshaped. ;D

They make a outstanding polled hawk when reshaped.

Gus,

The carrier fits the hawk like a glove and is very comfortable to carry over the shoulder.

Thanks Giz.  At 60, I'm a little more into "comfort" than I used to be.  GRIN.  I've been thinking about making a belt frog for my next "bag axe," but I may consider doing an over the shoulder rig as well.
