Barrel lubes

Does anyone use Mobil 1 oil in the barrel after cleaning? was wondering if any fouling or not.

I use it for long term storage. No fouling because it has been removed during cleaning. I have found some dark film after a time but believe it is just the oil, comes out with alcohol.

I think you'll find that many folks will use a full petroleum or synthetic petroleum oil for/as a rust preventive tool in their bore, and many if not all of those guy's will clean that "oil" out of the bore prior to the next shooting with an oil solvent such as brake cleaner or denatured alcohol.
It all may not be what's called historically correct but it's a good way to preserve and care for what can be a significant investment.
I think it's just simple and basic care we have available in our times where many of us don't use our guns on a daily or regular basis as our forefathers may have done.

I use barricade and have never had a problem with rust in my bores.

I use and trust Barricade with my guns.  Since I'm constantly going over them they never stay untouched very long.  I guess I'm paranoid or obsessive but I have a major objection to any rust on anything.

I use G96 gun treatment for bores. I use Amsoil 0w30 synthetic for lube oil locks etc.
I use this because I drain it out of the bottles after oil changes and its good lube that will not gel to about -50f

   Kalhoon   I use Mobile 1 and Castor oil in the bore of my rifles and Castor oil on all lock parts that move .
                  I have had no problems at all with these 2 oils. Curt

Castor oil by itself will gum up after a long period of time. We use castor oil in our model airplane engines and over time, what is left there after the fuel (alcohol) evaporates,  will seize the carburetor barrel when it dries out. Alcohol will -re-constitute it - thus alcohol will clean it from your bore if the borer gets gummy.

The synthetic motor oils are good - Amsoil 2 stroke oil - the 100:1 mix was perhaps the best, but I haven't seen it lately. It did not gum a modern rifle action or bolt down  -35, at any rate.
