chest lock

My first attempt at lock making. Somewhat crude as I was anxious to get it together and see if it worked. Next one will be neater. Trickiest part is forge welding bits on keys. In all seriousness thats a great looking job.
I'd be proud to use one of those on anything
that needs locking...

I mortised it into a pine box I made a while back. Here is a picture of the box. out of old packing crate lumber.

Have you ever seen the signed lock made by daniel border?  Its highly precise for its day

Some one sent me a PM and I was trying to send you a link and lost your email address. If you would PM me back I'll try again to answer. I can strike fire with flint and steel and build a fire in the forge and forge weld easier than doing this computer stuff.

I tried making keys for the locks in my old doors in my farm house  I found upsetting the end first or folding the ends over to put the extra matereal on the ends . trying to forge weld that little piece to make the key beyond my talent
