Question for Centershot
« on: January 10, 2014, 12:00:55 AM »
George

I love watching you on impossible shots I think you and Jerry are carrying the show with the passing of Munden and Knapp.   would you please address the items hanging from your belt below your waist. I assume it's a shot bag but  not sure what the other item is.
I am also interested in hearing how you outfit yourself as I am always interested in efficiency and period Correctness.

Hi, the bag is a sporran. It's where I keep all my extra stuff, fire kit, fishing kit, sewing kit, salt horn, etc. etc. Sporrans go back a long way in Scottish History as do European belt bags.

With my rifle, bag, and horn, and the items in my sporran I have everything I need to spend a long time in the woods in warm weather. Of course if it was a planned stay, I would carry a blanket and haversack with food and other supplies.

I don't know what else you see unless it's the powder measure hanging from my shooting bag.

Thanks for watching the show, I really enjoy doing it.

George

Not having cable TV, I don't have opportunity to watch this show. I'd enjoy seeing pics of this "sporran" if available.

George.... That sure is some beautiful high country there where you are standing. Look's a lot like West Virginia. I to enjoy your showmanship on the Outdoor Channel, you are a great representative for our sport. Keep up the good work.

Kind Regards  Frank Barker

Hi Frank, thanks for watching the show.

I am standing on the top of Keating Mountain, Keating, Pennsylvania. It's a fantastic place.

Ron Luckenbill calls it the land of endless mountains.
