Cleaning Issue with long barrels

So i have this .52 Caliber rifle Allen Martin built for me with an almost 53" barrel.  I have gotten an extra MBS brass 48" range rod with a 4" extension, that I soft soldered on giving me 52".  with a two inch Jag I have no problem with general cleaning, but most scrapers are short.  Should i just solder the short scraper to another extension or shape one out of a two inch Jag.  The second question is does  this rifle make my Keith Lisle 44" , and Steve Bookout 48" Tennessee seem short.

    Bill, better go back to the metal store and buy a 55" piece of drill rod. One rod for all them guns there.
    My shortest is a 42 inch. Named her "stubby".

I'd suggest not storing your gun powder so close to the fire. Same with the gunstocks.

I regularly make custom long range rods for my customers with longer barrels even those in the 50"+ length. Just get a 6' stainless rod from McMaster Car in 5/16 or 3/8, cut to the needed length ,thread one end ,turn wooden handle and pin the handle to the rod.They can be used as range rods or cleaning rods depending on the jag installed.

I'd be more concerned about fallen off the lug box while loading it. Or having the neighbor run over the stock while I had it laying down across his driveway while I was cleaning it.

If someone wants long stainless cleaning rods for 32-36 cal and larger. I can get the material. I just cut my last 60" piece down but I will be ordering more rod next week.
Shipping rods over 60" is a problem however. So you folks with really long barrels may want to look into a rod with 2 sections.

Eastern Maine Shooting Supplies will make you any length brass rod that you want. I have a sectional brass rod that I keep in my shooting box that is 60 long. They make nice stuff.
